Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Wilson

Elizabeth Ann Wilson, age 83 of Melvin, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1934 in Shelby Gap, Kentucky to the late Fred & Flora Swindell Rife. She was the wife of the late Rex Wilson. She was a retired postmaster. She attended Wheelwright High School and Alice Lloyd College. She was a clerk at Bypro Post Office from 1956to 1972 and postmaster from 1972 to 1980, she was appointed postmaster at Wheelwright in 1980 and served until 1992. She was a member of the National Association of Postmasters and served on the women’s program for the postal service. She is survived by her Son: Rex David (Brenda) Wilson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Son-in-law: Terry Ratliff of Raccoon, Kentucky; Special Friend: Gabe Sanders; Sister-in-law: Jean Wilson of East Dorset, Vermont; Grandchildren: Angela (McKay) Ousley, Ashley (Ken) Taylor & Lincoln (Sabrina) Ratliff; Great Grandchildren: Faith Curtis, Brooklyn Ousley, Brayden Ousley, Katelin Meade & Ryan Meade; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her Daughter: Beverly Ann Ratliff; Lifelong best friend: Anna Mae Rife; Brother & Sisters: George Rife, Ardell Novick, Sylvia Elliott & Barbara Faye (Paul) Mullins. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Time and Place of Services: Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2 pm at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky

Visitation: Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1pm at the funeral home

Officiating: Bobby Isaac

Burial: Rife Family Cemetery, Weeksbury, Kentucky
