Obituary for Corinna Lynn Stumbo

It is with much love and many happy memories that I write these words about a devoted lady, loving mother, and caring sister, who was a friend to all who knew her.
Corinna Lynn Stumbo began her life’s journey December 21, 1979 and departed this life March 6, 2019 making her stay here on earth 39 years. Born in Martin, Kentucky she was the daughter of Jackie Stumbo Douglas and the late Chester Newsome. On February 7, 2002 Corinna became a mother to her son, Daegan Scott Bush, the love of her life. In addition to her son and mother, she is survived by her sister, Savannah Douglas, her brother, Robert Joe Stumbo, her grandfather, Kermit Newsome, and nieces and nephews, Bella Kate and Reed Stumbo. Corinna has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who she loved deeply. She is preceded in death by her Granny Gertrude T. Stumbo, Grandfather Walter L. Stumbo, Grandmother Barbara Newsome, Aunt Patricia Potter, Ann Stumbo and many more family members.

Corinna worked hard to raise her son. She always saw that he had food on the table, clothes to wear, and a roof over their head. She was there when he needed her. Her door was always open for his friends and neighbors. She made sure they all had something to eat. She loved seeing them have a good time together.

Corinna leaves us with very happy memories of the woman she had become and words of kindness that only she knew. She wanted everyone to be happy, love one another, and get to know Jesus.

We feel that on March 6, 2019 Jesus saw that she had suffered enough and sent a convoy of angels to her home, and carried her to rest until that great morning.
Let us all remember the love and happy days we spent with her. Let us grieve not as those who have no hope, but only say that she is gone away with a friend.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Versailles, KY with Rev. Dr. Floyd Greene and Rev. Shawn Demos officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Robbie Stumbo, Nick Hall, Lucas Brocato, Dennis Johnson, Kent Raglin and George Madbak.
