Obituary for Mary Evelyn Akers

Mary Evelyn Akers, age 94 of Dana, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1924 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Charles & Attie Mae Bagwell Floyd. She was the wife of the late Dewey Akers. She was a homemaker and member of Highland Avenue Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her Sons: Ellis Dee (Lasheri) Akers, Tony Ray (Sandy) Akers & Don (Monica) Akers all of Dana, Kentucky; Daughters: Mary Linda (Mike) Cecil of Tennessee, Brenda (the late Joe Jack) Harris of Prestonsburg, Kentucky & Sherry (Saul) Akers of Harold, Kentucky; Sister: Shirley Guest of Travelers Rest, North Carolina; 13 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren & 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Special Care Giver: Bonnie Sue Boyd. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her Son: Billy (Mary) Akers; Brother & Sisters: William Floyd,
Lottie Hyatt & Elizabeth Floyd. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Time and Place of Services: Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11am at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky

Visitation: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 4pm at the funeral home

Officiating: Tim McClanahan

Burial: Akers Cemetery, Dana, Kentucky
